An eco hotel for Dubai, built from stone, shade and living terraces, opening in 2030.
GHAF is a hotel for Dubai, built as a stack of planted terraces. The idea behind it, and the tree it is named after, are on the About page.

A solar canopy runs along the roof, and the roof edge is planted.
Trees and shrubs spill over the terrace edges. They shade the level below.
Each level steps back from the one underneath, so every terrace has sky above it and shade below it.
A green wall rises beside a screen of timber louvres. It is the one part of the facade that does not step back.
Palms and low planting meet the street at the base of the building.
Rooms open onto their own terraces, and the arrival hall brings the green wall indoors.
GHAF is planned in Dubai, where towers already fill the horizon. The hotel answers them with stone, shade and planting on every level.
